HOME REMEDIES TO RID OF COLD (MUCUS) AND COUGH

 Many people suffer from cold and cough, because of infection, or due to change in climate, or through contagious.

Here are some home remedies to get cure of these infections.

HOT WATER

Drinking hot water is the best practice to rid of cold (mucus) and cough. Hot water has the power to cure the swelling in throat or throat pain. Drinking hot water is a good remedy for germs that cause cold (mucus) and coughs.

CUMIN

Cumin provides immediate relief from cold (mucus) and cough. Cumin has immense natural immune-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties. Additional to these properties, the nutrition present in the cumin help in curing wounded muscles. Cumin further enhances immunity power, thus combats germs and prevents replications and cures the infections quickly.

Cumin has vitamin A and vitamin C that helps in quick relief from cold (mucus). Now let us see how to prepare medicines out of cumin.

1) For cold (mucus):

Ingredients: water, cumin, small ginger piece, few tulsi leaves.

Boil two cups of water. Add one spoon of cumin. Let it boil until bubbles arise. Then add a small piece of ginger and few tulsi leaves. The essence of all the ingredients blends with the water. Filter the mixture and drink the water in the lukewarm stage.

2) Nasal Congestion due to cold (mucus):

Ingredients: water, cumin, few cloves.

Boil some water add cumin and few cloves. Let it boil until bubbles arise. Inhale the steam, this provides relief from nasal congestion, and one can breathe freely.

Ginger is a good source for dry cough. Take a small piece of ginger and sprinkle a pinch of salt in it. Chew this ginger for a few minutes. If tulsi leaves blended with this ginger, it gives relief from cough and cold (mucus).

GARLIC

Garlic cures both cold (mucus) and cough. Take four to five cloves of garlic, and fry the garlic using ghee. Before the garlic, becomes cool consume it.

ONION

Onion is an excellent source of home medicine for cold (mucus) and cough.

Onion has two flavonoids, the anthocyanins in some varieties (red or purple colour) and Quercetin in other types(yellow and brown skin). These flavonoids fight against the germs, which cause cold (mucus) and cough.

A few onions taken peel the skin and crush them. Boil some water. Add the crush onions, one teaspoon of lemon water and one tablespoon of honey in the boiling water. Let it boil until bubbles arise. Leave aside until it becomes lukewarm and drink the water.

MILK, PEPPER, and TURMERIC POWDER

The antique, and one of the conventional methods followed for curing cold (mucus) and cough is using milk, pepper powder and turmeric powder. The powders mixed in the milk and consumed by children to older people.

Boil the milk add a small amount of pepper powder and turmeric powder. Mix the mixture finely and drink it. Milk, pepper, turmeric has essential nutrients required for the body.

Even in regular days, it is encouraged to drink milk added with some turmeric powder.

These are the few remedies to cure cold (mucus) and coughs from home. It is always the best practice to boil the water and drink. Hot water is germ-free because the germs killed during boiling. Follow any one of the methods for curing a cold (mucus) and coughs if you are not suffering from any allergies.
